Royal Ascot is synonymous with sartorial elegance. This is upheld by its dress code, which guests must adhere to, failure to do so will result in guests not being permitted to the Royal Enclosure.
Gentlemen are kindly reminded that it is a requirement to wear either black, grey, or navy morning dress which must include:
A WAISTCOAT AND TIE (NO CRAVATS OR BOW TIES)
A BLACK OR GREY TOP HAT
BLACK SHOES WORN WITH SOCKS
TOP HATS
A gentleman may remove his top hat within a restaurant, a Private Box, a private club or a facility’s terrace, balcony or garden. Hats may also be removed within any enclosed external seating area within the Royal Enclosure Gardens.
The customisation of top hats (with, for example, coloured ribbonsor bands) is not permitted in the Royal Enclosure.
PATTERNS
Novelty waistcoats and ties are not permitted. Discreet patterns and those of a patriotic nature (for example, a national flag) are acceptable.

Ladies are kindly reminded that formal daywear is a requirement in the Royal Enclosure, defined as follows:
DRESS, SKIRTS & TOPS
Dresses and skirts should be of modest length defined as falling just above the knee or longer. Dresses and tops should have straps of one inch or greater. Strapless, off the shoulder, halter neck and spaghetti straps are not permitted. Dresses and tops with sheer straps and sleeves are also not permitted.
JACKETS/PASHMINAS
Jackets and pashminas may be worn. Tops and dresses underneath should still comply with the Royal Enclosure dress code. Midriffs must be covered.
TROUSER SUITS & JUMPSUITS
Trouser suits are welcome. They should be of full-length to the ankle and of matching material and colour. Jumpsuits are welcome. They should fall below the knee, with regulations matching that for dresses.
HATS
Hats should be worn; however, a headpiece which has a solid base of 4 inches (10cm) or more in diameter is acceptable as an alternative to a hat. Fascinators are not permitted.

Day Schedule
Example - All Days
10:30 AM – Gates Open
Ascot’s greencoats open the gate to the public, and the day begins — this is the perfect opportunity to find your bearings and browse the Ascot shop.
12:00 PM – Lunch
Lunch to be served at 12:00 PM. Options will vary based on day of attendance.
2:00 PM – The Royal Procession
The Royal Carriages go along the straight mile and stop at the parade ring.
2:30 PM – First Race
It’s time for horses and jockeys to take centre stage, with the first of seven races taking place at 2:30PM.
6:10 PM – Last Race
The final of seven top quality flat races gets underway.
6:15 PM – Singing Around the Bandstand
Guests are invited to sing along as the band of the Grenadier Guards plays a selection of classics from the iconic Ascot Bandstand.
Travellers from the U.S. are recommended to fly into either London Heathrow (LHR) or London Gatwick (LGW), if arriving commercially. If flying privately, aircraft Owners are encouraged to utilize the Flexjet port of London via Farnborough Airport (FAB).
As the Official Private Aviation Supplier to Royal Ascot, we recommend helicopter transfers as the easiest way to travel to the race grounds, given the large amount of traffic. It is advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
